Our programme fits the year – 2022

Jan 5, 2022

2022 is the “European Year of Youth”. Our Young Service Steward Program focuses on young people aged 25-29, who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). Although they are often seen as an issue in local communities, with the right guidance and support they can become valuable members of their communities. Moreover, these young people themselves could be the solution to some local gaps and needs.

In the YSS Program, we aim to work with local actors (municipalities, NGOs, and companies) to help young NEETs to find their place and role in the local community, according to local needs and opportunities. In many cases, social care and the circular economy are those two areas where there is a continuing shortage of staff and increasing challenges. We try to find the links between local needs and the potential of young people and fill the demand with the involved youngsters in the Programme. For this, NEETs receive training (digital and life skills), counselling and mentoring support.

As an additional output of the Young Service Steward Program, methodological guides, teaching, and training materials will also be produced. These materials will be publicly available, so could be used by local employment and other organizations working with young people to effectively support them in finding their way into the world of work.
